The Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates), the nation’s oldest and largest pro bono legal and social services agency serving abused and neglected children, One Simple Wish, and the Philadelphia Zoo announce today that they have partnered to grant a special wish to brighten the life of a deserving child and her family.
In an event to take place on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., a six-year old child client ofChild Advocates, a lover of animals, will receive her one simple wish, a tour of the zoo and a year-long membership to the Zoo.
This will be the first of 35 wishes to be granted byChild Advocates over the next several months, in an effort to celebrate the 35th year of providing services to children who have been victims of child abuse and neglect.
“For 35 years we have been involved in the lives of our children at a time of trauma and stress,” says Frank Cervone, Executive Director of the Support Center for Child Advocates and a nationally recognized child welfare and legal expert. “It’s incredibly meaningful when we can bring a child some joy. When asked what she might wish for, this 6-year old girl only asked for a trip to the Zoo. We’re grateful to One Simple Wish and the Philadelphia Zoo for creating a memory for a lifetime – a special tour and a family membership is more than she imagined.”
