Child Advocacy Practice Groups
Child Advocates has created Child Advocacy Practice Groups at firms and in corporate legal departments to enhance its relationships with volunteer attorneys and enhance their relationships with each other.

Within law firms, Child Advocates volunteers are often in different departments and diverse regional offices and thus do not know each other or of their common work in child advocacy. They may not feel supported in their pro bono work by the firm and/or by Child Advocates. Solo practitioners may feel similarly isolated. Practice Groups are comprised of attorneys within a single firm that are handling our cases. The groups provide a sense of community and camaraderie for our volunteers, as well as a forum for discussion of the legal and social service issues that arise. Practice Groups strengthen our capacity to serve children by promoting a “teamwork” approach to our cases, especially significant in large firms.
