This often used expression refers to an overlooked detail, like a phone call we meant to make, an errand we failed to run, or a thank you note that should have gone out last week. But the phrase also applies to a significant number of abused, neglected or disadvantaged children, especially those innocently thrust into the complex human services and juvenile court systems.
The Support Center for Child Advocates makes sure these children do not fall. In a courtroom. At home. In school. Or in life.
Through the dedicated efforts of our staff attorneys, Child Advocate Social Workers and an army of specially trained volunteer attorneys from throughout Greater Philadelphia’s legal community, we provided free legal representation and social-service advocacy to more than 750 at-risk children in 2008.
Ideally, we’d love to see our caseload shrink until our services are no longer needed. But realistically, we continue to solicit the human and financial resources to meet the increasing demand for our services and help every at-risk child who might otherwise fall through a crack.
